Most engagements start with about two weeks of listening: interviews, current-state walkthroughs, and an honest technical scope. We'd rather lose a project at proposal than mis-scope it at handover.
The people who scope your project are the people who write the code. No layered agency dance, no offshore translation gap, no junior dropouts after the contract is signed.
We pick technology you can maintain after we leave: TypeScript, Postgres, C, Rust, well-trodden cloud primitives. Novelty lives in the product, not the plumbing.

Salix Limited is a New Zealand company building software for schools, shopkeepers, and hardware teams. We named ourselves after the willow, a tree that bends without breaking and spreads by quiet, deliberate growth.
It is a small practice, and deliberately so. Salix was founded by Vakkas Celik, who scopes the work, writes the code, and is the person you ring two years later when something needs changing. You will not be handed to an account manager, and the person on the first call is the person who does the build.
That shape has limits, and they are worth saying out loud: we take on fewer projects at once than an agency can, and we will tell you when a job is a poor fit rather than stretch to win it. More about how the company is set up.
